St. Xavier's College is one of Nepal's premier learning institutions, which was established as a high school in 1988, but now also offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business, social science, humanities, and information management. It was founded as a higher secondary school (encompassing grades 11 and 12) in the heart of Kathmandu valley by the Society of Jesus with the aim of cultivating future leaders in Nepal. Although it is said the college of christian, here is no discrimination at all. Its motto is "Excellence through leadership, training, and service." The school was inaugurated by Late King Birendra of Nepal and is supervised by Jesuits.

Admission

The admission to the +2 programme is highly competitive. Every year more than 6000 students from all over Nepal apply and only 1004 of the brightest are chosen. The admission process includes a preliminary cutoff score at Grade 10 national exam, a written examination and an interview from the college personnel.

Discipline

St. Xavier's College has strict rules and code of conduct. The discipline is very well maintained. Students can enter and leave the campus premises at scheduled timings only. There are specified times when the ex-students can meet the teachers.
Great emphasis is laid on moral values which maintains the discipline and integrity of the students. This makes the students to be in the discipline they used to be at the school time. Doing such helps the future students to be more careful and also makes them more serious towards their studies.

Clubs and organizations

St. Xavier's College believes in overall development of the students. Various club activities provide good deal of exposure to the students and develop their leadership potentials. The various clubs and organizations in the college are

Partnership in education

Partnership in Education (PIE) was originally launched by St. Xavier's College in partnership with Save the Children. Under this programme, students from underprivileged backgrounds studying in government schools are provided academic and extracurricular enhancement classes. Students of the college volunteer for PIE.
