Grow Grow Grow

Lately there's been a swack of products claiming they can help make your eye lashes look fuller, longer, and more fabulous. Fabulous is good right, so I've decided to jump on the lash-growing-miracle bandwagon. L'Oreal's Lash Serum claims that it can overhaul your scrawny lashes and turn them into gloriously long, conditioned and fuller lashes. After about a month of using the Lash Serum I'd have to agree that my lashes do appear to be fuller and stronger (less fallout.) But are they longer? Hard to say. I want to say that they are but there isn't any actual medicinal ingredient in it that would cause actual lash growth. But for the price it is a decent product and if you're committed to applying it everyday it's worth it.

I'd really like to get my hands on the by prescription only product Latisse that Brooke Sheilds is pushing  promoting right now. But I'd feel kinda silly asking my doctor for an Rx. "Yes, I'd like a prescription for lash growth liquid in a bottle.... no seriously."  He's a great doctor but he's also a "woman, don't you come up in here wastin' my valuable time!" kind of doctor.  But just check out Brooke's results below. Tough to beat!!  Maybe it's time to hit up an internet pharmacy??

I've also heard a lot about the Phyto line of vitamin supplements that are supposed to make your hair grow stronger, thicker and FASTER.  From Sephora's website: Harnessing the power of natural elements, each daily dose of this nourishing vitamin, essential fatty acids, and antioxidant blend promotes healthy hair growth, strengthens nails, illuminates skin, and fortifies (and lengthens) lashes. Hair regains its density and shine.  Sounds pretty awesomesauce to me!

Any product that can improve my tragically thin, fine hair would indeed be a miracle in a bottle.  I'm up for that...bring on the hair growing magic!  I seriously have the slowest growing head of hair in the world. I can go months between highlight touchups. So will taking this stuff make my hair grow faster, thus requiring more visits to the salon? Hmmm all in the name of thicker, more fabulous hair right?!
 I swallowed the $75.00/bottle price tag. And since the product seems pretty natural with a lot of different oils in it maybe it'll work?  The helpful sales assistant at Sephora did warn me that her husband tried the stuff and he had to give it up because it sent him running to the potty, it apparently has a bit of a laxative effect (mother- frack, why does everything have to have side effects?!)  Fingers crossed my tummy won't betray me on this one. Glorious hair, I'm expecting you to arrive within 6-8 weeks with the following results:

{I'd take the great hair, AND the great body....}

Wednesday Wish List

It's mid-week and I've been shoveling my driveway thinking about the things I'd like to get my hands on right now that just might make my life a bit better. Maybe I'm in dream-land here but unseasonably bad weather makes me a bit cray cray.

1) I'd like to squeeze my butt into a pair of size 8 jeans. Any over priced brand will do, the point is that they be a size 8 and I fit into them for the rest of my adult life. Forever. Forever ever.
If size 8 is good enough for Mariska Hargitay and Valerie Bertinelli then it's good enough for me. (Never mind that they're older.)

2) I'd like a miracle cellulite cream that actually works. Like for real. With modern medicine/technology can no one figure out a cream/potion/magic elixir that will make my dimple butt go away? Forever?
{Boo. Hiss. These do not work.}

3) I'd like Marc Jacobs to come and design for me. Personally.  I will allow him to use me as his muse and maybe even his exclusive lovah. (What's that you say? He's gay?) Never mind then. Just being his style muse will do.

{Ignore Posh, insert Mama here.}

 Till then, (cuz I know he's working on Fall/Winter 2011) he can feel free to FedEx these to me at anytime. Freebies of course.

4) I'd like to pick up a new bike. Yes a bicycle. La Bicyclette. In order to fit into my size 8 jeans (forever) I'll be needing something in addition to a gym membership or Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (which is actually more like an every 5 or 6 days if I'm feeling up to it Shred.)  Something new like this cruiser would be super-cute.

5) I'd like Kid #2 (who is now a bold 20 months old) to stop running into the bathroom, climbing up onto the toilet, then onto the counter and then into the sink while plugging the drain and turning on the taps. (Fully dressed and sitting in the sink.)

{No this isn't him. But I'm too busy cursing to stop and take a pic while he's up to his shenanigans}

6) I'd like my hair to look like this. Everyday. If anyone knows Ken Paves number please share. (We'll just pull him away from his world travels with Jessica Simpson on "The Price of Beauty."}

Beauty inspiration....

Happy Monday kids, what a beautiful weekend we had!! It's seriously starting to feel like spring might be here...someday. Which means summer can't be far behind. This got me thinking about the beauty that is around us. Let's not get too deep and meaningful here, I'm keeping it strictly superficial- movies, music and T.V..
 There are so many beautiful and talented women in Hollywood today. And while society seems to love to put beauty up on a pedestal (as if it holds greater value then other more "important" traits),  it's hard to deny that we're naturally drawn to beautiful people.  Here's a quick break-down of the leading ladies who I think are  beautiful and fabulous!

Taking it way back with Cindy Crawford in the "that" Pepsi commercial, circa 1989ish. How hot was she?

Brooke Shields in the 80's. As a kid I thought she really was the hottest actress/model around. Lurve those eyebrows! And maybe I wished I was her...just maybe??...

And in more 'modern' times, I think these ladies are true examples of style and beauty...and each in their own
unique way!
Catherine Zeta Jones. I think my jaw dropped when I saw her in Zoro...and she was phenomenal in Chicago. But why she is married to Michael Douglas is beyond me. He's seriously old and it makes her seem older too. Just sayin'....

Charlize Theron.-those eyes, those cheekbones. All that and she CAN ACT!!

Ok, stay with me here. I think Kim Kardashian is gorgeous. She's totally changing traditional beauty ideals in Hollywood. She's short and curvy yet stunning. As for her t.v. show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, sometimes I wanna reach out and slap her...and her dieting devil 'product' Quick Trim almost killed me. But I still lurve her! Again, no hard feelings Kim....

Ok, so before you get all WHAT? on me let me explain that while I don't think Mrs.Vicki Becks is unusually beautiful, I do admire her not afraid to take risks sense of style, her ability to juggle 3 kids (with the help of multiple nannies of course), her carefully crafted public persona , her commitment to her marriage and her unending dedication to furthering her career. This girl works hard for the money! (that and her hubs can kick around a little black and white ball pretty well....)

And my numero uno pick for top beauty in Hollywood is without a doubt, Jennifer Lopez. Truely a 'triple threat', she can dance, act and sing. (Ok, so her singing is seriously weak but she's a mommy now too so that can be her third 'talent'!!!) Her beauty is undeniable. That glowing, flawless skin, thick gorgeous hair, and those smoldering eyes with a neutral lip. Smoking hot....this Mamacita is En Feugo!!!

PhotobucketWho is your favourite beauty in Hollywood (or anywhere for that matter) and why??!
